There are certain fashion “rules” you just pick up along the way. One I remember knowing since, like, forever is that every wardrobe should contain a “little black dress.” If there’s an exact definition to the type of dress this refers to, I’m not privvy to it. I’ve always taken this to mean any dress that is fully black (meaning it does not include any other colors) and on the shorter side (just above the knees or higher). These qualities make it perfect for dressing up and down for a variety of occassions.
Of course, fashion rules should only be followed insofar as they fit one’s personal taste. I happen to love the idea behind the little black dress. However, it’s a staple that has alluded me until recently. I can be very picky when it comes to fashion, in part because I’m bad at decluttering my wardrobe. So, I have to feel really positive about whatever I put into it because, chances are, I’ll have a hard time letting it go either way.

There’s truly nothing more universally flattering than a wrap dress–and especially so when it’s in black. The linen material is breezy, on trend, and perfect for these hot, summer months.
