Hello beautiful people! I’ve got an empty products review for you today. Ever since Carly’s post, I’ve been stockpiling my own empty products to share what worked well, what flopped, and what I’d buy again (the best evidence for how good a product is).
Today’s post is the first of two, which I’ve divided between skin care and makeup. First, let’s dive into my used skin care stash:
Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic
This was slightly irritating to my skin. It tingled to the point of almost feeling like it burned. Yet, it removed my makeup like a dream and didn’t break me out.
Bottom Line: Though I likely wouldn’t buy this version of Pacifica’s micellar water again, I liked it enough that I purchased the cactus water variety, which luckily does not irritate my skin at all.
Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash
A little goes a long way with this cleanser, and it does an excellent job of scrubbing clean any bits of makeup left after using the above micellar water. I really enjoyed using this, and though it is a foaming face wash, it did not strip my skin in the way others have. Best of all, Pacifica’s face products are sulfate-free, so I can feel good about using it.
Bottom Line: I would consider repurchasing this again at some point, but I’m interested in trying other Pacifica cleansers for now. In fact, I recently bought Pacifica’s Cactus Revive cleanser, which I like even more!
Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day and Night Face Cream
I know, another one from Pacifica. This was actually my second bottle, and I’m currently using a third! It’s that good. I use this cream both day and night as the name suggests, and I find this works particularly well under makeup. It absorbs into your skin quickly and layers well with sunscreen, too. As an added bonus, I love the smell!
Bottom Line: I’ll be purchasing this a fourth time!
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
I’ve written about this product before, and my thoughts then still hold today. This is good stuff. I truly believe that rose hip oil has helped reduce my acne as well as improve the overall texture of my skin. The reason I love this variety is for the amazing price point.
Bottom Line: I’m already on my second bottle.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I’ve also shared my review of this serum in the post linked above. This has also been greatly helpful in reducing the severity and frequency of my breakouts. One bottle lasts a long time and the product sinks easily into the skin. Love it!
Bottom Line: Not only am I on my second bottle, but I already have a back-up in my closet!
This is an all natural product from a company with a lot of heart. Plus, for me, it’s local! This body butter literally consists of just mango butter, cocoa butter, almond oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin E. That’s it! As you can imagine, it is very hydrating. I actually used this under my eyes, and it did a lovely job of keeping that delicate area looking its best.
Bottom Line: While I would buy this again, I’m not sure if I’ll need to. I’m currently using Olivu’s Tropical Eye Cream, and I find it even more nourishing.
And that’s it! Come back tomorrow for a review of my empty makeup items, and let me know in the comments what skin care products you’ve used up recently.
Happy Fourth of July to all of our American readers!!!
xoxo Kelli
I really need to try some of those products from the ordinary, especially that rosehip oil!
